climber's skin care.
Varapo is a product designed with climbers’ skin in mind.
You train your muscles, prepare your mind, develop your skills, build your mental strength —
you buy the best shoes possible.
However, the skin is often overlooked, and in fact, it is constantly damaged
by abusing it with chalk and removing its natural protective barrier.
It is through the skin — the point of contact between the body and the rock —
that the power developed through training flows.
For that power to flow freely, the skin should be kept in the best possible condition —
in balance — at the right level of elasticity and hydration.
Varapo is designed to maintain the right balance,
acting preventively while also supporting the restoration
of already damaged skin.

First trip to Fontainebleau – April 2013.
We set off at six. Three hours’ drive. Ten hours of intense climbing on the world’s best sandstone. Three hours back. The guys rub their hands with various substances. I do too, even though I feel fine.
In the middle of the night, I wake up in pain – I rubbed my fingertips against the sheet.
The abrasion of the skin causes such severe inflammation that for the next few days I can’t drink coffee because even a moderately warm cup burns me.
I test various skin products available on the market.
Nothing helps.
I explore various shamanic methods used by climbers, filter them through my biotechnological knowledge, and delve into herbal medicine literature.
I test. I improve. I search.
The first packages of Varapo land on the shelves of Krakow’s climbing walls in 2017.
